July 2024-Current

In July of 2024, The Calgary Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) began a huge new project — The CYPT Community DreamShop expansion. After negotiations for rental of the former boxing club next door to the West Village Theatre in Calgary were completed, the company brought on designer and carpenter Jake Rose to manage the expansion. The project aimed to create a scenic and props construction workshop, a design suite including a sound booth, and a costumes shop.

The project required designing a layout for the shop, purchasing and installing equipment, building cabinetry and workstations, constructing the design studio, and so much more.
