On their annual band trip, 10 members of the P.S. Garrison High School Concert Ensemble venture into a mountain cave and become trapped when rainwaters flood the entrance.
They have no way out and no way of knowing if they will be rescued.
Will this eclectic group of musicians find harmony and resonance, or will their music slowly fade to silence?
The scenic design emerged from the creative collaborative process between Dunsdon and Rose, discussions about the cave setting and the themes that surround the idea of becoming stronger after experiencing the profound impact of traumatic events lead to this design. Much like the intricate process involved in creating stained glass, the artist must carefully break the glass panels in order to uncover the beauty that lies within the raw materials. For the construction, a method was used that involved affixing intricately carved construction foam to shaped flats, and platforms were created using a similar technique.
